As a result of the tragic earthquake in Haiti, Elementary and Middle School students participated in a local campaign entitled, “Change” for a “Change” in Haiti. The program provided opportunity for students to collect change for the Haitian children and adults in need.
Money donated for the program will support relief efforts through the Orphan Grain Train in Norfolk. In response to their efforts, the following “Change” was donated by our students:
Elementary $ 862.32
Middle School $ 305.49
Total $1,167.81
A check from the Elementary and the Middle School will be delivered to the Orphan Grain Train by Fourth Grade Students on Monday, February 22 and the Sixth Grade Students on Tuesday, February 23. Each class, during their scheduled visit, will present the check to members of the Orphan Grain Train and later assist in assembling food boxes to be shipped to Haiti by way of the KIDS FOR HUNGER Warehouse.
As a school community, we should be proud of our students’ kindness and generosity in helping those in need. Thank you to our students!
