FFA Members Earn State Degrees
Eight Wisner Pilger Senior FFA Members were among an elite group of FFA members from across the state honored with the State FFA Degree, during the 85th annual State FFA Convention in Lincoln on April 5, 2013.
State Farmer Degrees were bestowed upon members Friday evening in the ceremonies at Pershing Auditorium to: Callie Albers, Prudence Biermann, Cody Callies, Abbi Ebel, Emma Heermann, Jasmin Kepler, Emilee Peterson, and Jarett Sindelar. The State Degree is the highest degree the Nebraska FFA can bestow on a member.
When the eight members joined FFA four years ago they set a goal to complete their State Degree requirements. This goal cannot be achieved without a lot of hard work and sacrifice over the years. The first step to receiving the State Degree involved getting their shoes dirty. Activity points were earned by participating in leadership contests and career development activities. Knowledge and skills were developed through their proficiency areas and assisted all of the state degree winners with learning the importance of accurate record keeping and managing their finances.
