Local Geography Bee Champion Crowned

Jakob Otten was the winner of the school level of the National Geographic Society Annual Geography Bee which was held in the fine arts auditorium on December 22, 2011. His next step is to take a written test.  Of those school winners who take the test, the top one hundred students qualify for the State Bee.

Earning second place was Nathan Hatterman and third place went to Kenton Ruppert.  The preliminary portion of the school bee began with twelve contestants who answered questions until only three students remained.  The Championship round consisted of questions that were the same for both competitors.
